About Us - by WebWoof, Editor-In-Chief
“Truth,
Justice, and the Puppy Way! You guys
planning to save the world?” This, a
gentle tail-pull from one of our SHs (Significant Humans – please see our WT Lexicon of terms for more enlightened inter-species understanding.)
“Right!”
I barked enthusiastically, whereupon RuffWriter, ever the more smooth of fur
and temperament, patiently explained:
“Look,
Friend. Maybe we’re not so doggone
crazy. Life on this earth has come to
this: It’s going to heat up, blow up, or harmonize. We’re partial to that last choice, how ‘bout you? Now look around – you see a lot of
cooperation out there? Countries all at
peace? Humans all respecting other Humans? Humans all respecting,
recognizing all other feeling species as equals in spirit? Notice any Lions lying down with Lambs
lately? For that matter, will there
soon be any Lions left to lie down with Lambs?”
Our
Friend looked down. “Well no, not
exactly…”
“’Not
exactly’,” RuffWriter sniffed. “Then
shall we all just fold our paws and take a long winter’s nap?”
“But
what can you do?” our Friend asked.
“What can I do?”
“We
are creating a place on the ‘Net, one place where all creatures, not
just Dogs and Cats, but representatives of all feeling species, are most warmly
welcome. With the natural wisdom of Canines and Felines, we share our unique viewpoints (how and why many of us have
learned to get along) while we publish stories and examples of how other
species have also learned to live in peace and harmony with one another. Even
Humans can join in. Do you have a story
to share, an example of any feeling species learning to live together?”
“But
what good will that do?” our Friend queried skeptically.
“The
world needs examples of Peace,” RuffWriter explained. “Every newspaper, every Human media source, and consequently most
every word we hear from Humans about the state of the world, is filled with
reports of poverty and lack of sharing, war and hatred, and lack of care for
our Earth. What will happen if the great
and peaceful minds of whales and elephants die out? What of the beauty of polar
bears and wild creatures? Can we
replace the natural balance, once it’s gone?
Our world desperately needs examples of peaceful ways – of love and
appreciation between species! These
creatures who have learned mutual respect can be our teachers. Share their stories here: We will publish
them! We have set our tracks in the
direction of Peace, in hopes others will write in, contribute their stories and
photos, and join with us.”
“WoofTracks…”
our Friend mused, smiling with understanding.
