How Ruff Rates Inter-Species Movies:
The 0 - 5 Bone System,
cont. from Home Page
By RuffWriter
1.) Respect, cont: ...If,
on the other paw, the movie’s primary goal is to score a Box Office Hit that
will make Humans think they’ve struck it rich, then does the movie portray all
beings with equal respect, refer to them as “Pets” “owned” body and spirit by
Humans, or, worst of all, actually exploit their “cuteness” or make fun of
them?
2.) Plot: Since I am a canis lupus familiaris, if
a plot tickles my whiskers, I know chances are good that it will get a lot of
wags from many of my own and other Species.
(However, since I admit to having some slight difficulty judging plots
involving the felis catus, I generally defer to the advice of my fellow
blog staff members, Mokey and Willow, when rating these movies.)3.) Acting: What makes a great actor? Heart?
Spontaneity? It’s hard to put a
paw on what makes a star. Rin Tin Tin’s
fame is legendary; with Shamu, charisma and size mattered. Suffice to say I know star quality when I
see it, whether the star has fur, fins or feathers.
If
a movie shows great lack of Respect for any Species, neither Plot nor Acting
can save it from its just reward as a Zero Boner. But if an enlightening movie Respects all Species, weaves an
interesting Plot and fascinates us with believable Acting, then it is worthy
entertainment for viewers of all Species and ages, meriting a full Five Bone review.
